switch-controller system

switch-controller system

Use the command to configure system-wide switch controller settings.

History

The following table shows all newly added, changed, or removed entries as of FortiOS 6.0.

Command Description

config switch-controller system

New config command.

Sets the number of parallel processes that switch-controller can do to configure FortiSwitches.

config switch-controller system
    set parallel-process-override {disable | enable} Enable/disable parallel process override.
    set parallel-process {integer} Maximum number of parallel processes (1 - 300, default = 1). range[1-300]
end

Additional information

The following section is for those options that require additional explanation.

parallel-process-override {enable | disable}

Warning: When set to enable, use of the processing override may create instability in the control and management of FortiSwitch devices; use with extreme caution.

Enable or disable (by default) the maximum parallel process override, whereby multiple FortSwitches can be configured at the same time.

Configuring FortiSwitch can be complex, and so the time needed to configure has expanded. Managing more switches at the same time can put a strain on the async config engine. Multiple FortiSwitches in the network all requiring large updates can reult in long configuration times.

Once enabled, use the parallel-process entry to determine the maximum number of parallel process that can occur.

parallel-process <maximum-processes>

Note: This entry is only available when parallel-process-override is set to enable.

Maximum number of FortiSwitches that can be configured at once. Set the range between 1 - 300. The default is 1.
