FortiAP groups
FortiAP devices can be organized into groups based on FortiAP platforms. A group can only contain one model of FortiAP. A FortiAP can only belong to one group.
To view a FortiAP group:
- Go to AP Manager .
- In the tree menu, go to Device & Groups > Managed FortiGate (#), select a managed device.
- In the toolbar, click List > Group.
To create a FortiAP group:
- Go to AP Manager.
- In the tree menu, go to Device & Groups > Managed FortiGate (#), select a managed device.
- From the Create New dropdown, select Managed AP Group.
Alternatively, you can click Create New in the Group view.
- In the toolbar, click Create New. The Create New FortiAP Group dialog box opens.
- Configure the following:
Name
Enter a name for the group.
FortiGate
Select the FortiGate under which the group will be created.
Platform
Select the FortiAP platform that the group will apply to.
FortiAPs
Select FortiAPs to add to the group. Only FortiAPs in the selected FortiGate of the selected platform will be available for selection.
- Click OK to create the group.
To edit a group:
- Go to AP Manager.
- In the tree menu, go to Device & Groups > Managed FortiGate (#), select a managed device.
- Ensure Group view is enabled.
- In the device pane, right-click the group and select Edit.
- Edit the group name and devices in the group as needed. The FortiGate and the platform cannot be changed.
- Select OK to apply your changes.
To delete a group:
- Go to AP Manager.
- In the tree menu, go to Device & Groups > Managed FortiGate (#), select a managed device.
- Ensure Group view is enabled.
- In the device pane, right-click the group and select Delete.
- Select OK in the confirmation dialog box to delete the group.
