Duplicating policies

Duplicating policies

Instead of recreating similar policies from scratch, you can duplicate an existing one to a different policy group.

When you duplicate a policy, you can reuse some of the existing parameter values and modify those you wish to change.

How to duplicate a policy
  1. In the FortiDLP Console, on the left-hand sidebar, click .
  2. Click the policy group containing the policy you want to duplicate.
  3. On the row of the relevant policy, click > Duplicate.

  4. Select the check box of the policy group(s) you want to duplicate the policy to, or select the All check box to duplicate it to all groups.
  5. Click Apply.

The duplicated policy will display within your selected policy group(s) with the previous policy name, appended with (Copy)). For guidance on editing policies, see Configuring policy templates. A duplicated policy is not effective unless it is enabled within a policy group and that policy group is republished.
