FortiSwitch-AX9004G hardware assembly and rack mounting
The FortiSwitch-AX9004G chassis must be mounted in a standard 19-inch rack and requires 11U of vertical space in the rack. This chapter describes how to attach accessories to the FortiSwitch-AX9004G chassis, how to install the chassis in a rack, and how to install supervisors and line cards in the chassis front panel slots.
If you install the FortiSwitch-AX9004G chassis in a closed or multi-unit rack assembly, the operating ambient temperature of the rack environment may be greater than room ambient temperature. Make sure the operating ambient temperature does not exceed the manufacturer's maximum rated ambient temperature.

It is recommended that you mount the FortiSwitch-AX9004G chassis near the bottom of the rack to avoid making the rack top-heavy and potentially falling over. If you are going to mount the chassis higher, make sure the rack is well anchored. Since the chassis is over 200 lbs use a lift to raise the chassis into position before mounting it.
