Using the one-liner installer allows you to install the OnSight vCollector on any qualifying Linux-based instance.

Installation

Install the OnSight by running the following command as root:

curl -fsSL http://repo.fortimonitor.com/install/onsight/onsight-install.sh > onsight-install.sh && \
bash onsight-install.sh <CUSTOMER-KEY>

where <YOUR CUSTOMER KEY> is your own customer key. To obtain your customer key, visit the FortiMonitor Control Panel and click your avatar then select My Account.

This will add the appropriate repositories to the VM and begin downloading and configuring dependencies. This process should only take 2 - 3 minutes. Once the installation has completed, you will see a message similar to the following:

OnSight installed, registering with FortiMonitor
Processing manifest file in /etc/panopta-onsight-manifest
Registering new OnSight
Registered OnSight, configuring vCollector with key xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx.
Pulling latest vCollector image, version 2020.45.3
Starting OnSight vCollector version 2020.45.3
OnSight can be managed at https://my.panopta.com/report/ApplianceReport?appliance_id=4217

The OnSight vCollector can be managed from the Control Panel. Follow the link outputted at the bottom of the installation success message.
