Configuring Office 365 to accept FortiMail
Next, configure Office 365 to accept incoming mail, once it’s been checked, from your FortiMail unit.
-
In Office 365, go to the Exchange administrator center.
-
From the drop-down menu, select Create a new rule.
-
Enter a Name for the new rule, and select More options.
-
Configure the rule's condition and action, as required.
- Enter the IP address of the FortiMail unit as the rule's exception, and select OK.
- Configure another new rule to drop all incoming mail, unless it comes from FortiMail servers.
- Once the rule is created, enable it from the ON column of the Rules section of the Exchange administrator center.
Additionally, you may add another exception that will match if the Received header includes your FortiMail hostname (found in FortiMail under System > Mail Setting > Mail Server Setting). This exception means that if the email has already been scanned by FortiMail, it will not then be sent back again to FortiMail. |
