Remove Reserved IP Range

Remove Reserved IP Range

IP ranges reserved for auto-assignment for FortiGate usage can be removed. There are three ways to remove IP ranges reserved for FortiGate.

Remove IP Range by Drawing

  1. Log into FortiIPAM, and select Heatmap View tab.
  2. Locate the squares of which IP ranges to be removed.
  3. Move mouse cursor over the square and double click.
  4. Click confirm and submit at the right hand side to complete removing the IP range.

Remove IP Range Manually

The IP ranges reserved can be removed by manually typing in a IP range text editor.

  1. Select Heatmap View tab from FortiIPAM dashboard.
  2. In the right hand, right above the list of IPv4 ranges, click on Manually Type In, and the IP Range edit window will pop up.
  3. Like a text editor, click inside the editor, and delete the IP range using your keyboard.
  4. Click Confirm and Submit to finish removing.

Remove IP Range by Network Portion

In the reserved IP range list, the IP range is grouped by the network portion, for example 10.133.0.0 - 10.133.100.255. All the subnets with the same network portion of 10.133.0.0 are grouped together for easy removal.

  1. Select Heatmap View tab from FortiIPAM dashboard.
  2. In the right hand side there is list of reserved IP range grouped by IPv4 Classes.
  3. Locate the IP range by looking at the network portion. For example, if the subnet is 10.84.79.0, the network portion would be 10.84.0.0.
  4. Remove the IP ranges by clicking on the trash binbutton. As you hit the button, the rectangular square associated to the IP range will disappear.
  5. Click Confirm and Submit to finish removing.
