Subnet Group Management
Subnets manually added are collected and organized by subnet group folders beneath Reported by FortiGate group folder. Reported by FortiGate group folder contains allocated subnets automatically uploaded by FortiGate and cannot be deleted.
Subnet group folder management is designed to give organizations the versatility to organize and monitor all IP addresses in a single platform. You may create, delete, and rename subnet group folders for storing all subnets or IP addresses within your organization.
New Subnet Group
The top hierarchy subnet group folder can be created by adding a new group. Follow these steps to create a new subnet group.
- Click +New Group button at the bottom of subnet group folders.
- Enter a name in Name the group field.
- Click on the check button to finish creating the new subnet group folder, or click to cancel.
Add Subnet Sub-group
Subnet sub-group folders can be added within any subnet group folder to further divide a subnet group according to the functionality of the subnets.
Follow the steps below to add a sub-group folder.
- Move the mouse cursor over any subnet group folder to toggle the setting button .
- Click the setting button and select Add Group.
- Enter a name for the subnet group sub-folder.
- Click on the check button to finish creating the sub-group folder, or click to cancel.
Rename Subnet Group
Subnet group folder can easily be renamed when you want to change the subnet group specification or function.
Follow the steps below to rename a subnet group folder.
- Move mouse cursor over any subnet group folder to toggle the setting button .
- Click the setting button and select Rename Group.
- Enter a new name for the group folder.
- Click on the check button to finish renaming the subnet group folder, or click to cancel.
Delete Subnet Group
Subnet group folder can be deleted easily when no longer needed. Before deleting a subnet group folder. move all the subnets out of the group folder to another subnet group folder. Then follow the steps below to delete the group folder.
- Move mouse cursor over the subnet group folder to toggle the setting button .
- Click the setting button and select Delete to finish deleting the subnet group folder.
If there are still any subnet(s) in the subnet group folder, the subnet group folder cannot be deleted. Only empty subnet group folder can be deleted. |
