AWS ELBv2
The AWS Elastic Load Balancing v2 (ELBv2) integration allows you to monitor your AWS ELBv2 service through FortiMonitor.
To add the AWS ELBv2 service to your FortiMonitor account:
-
Follow the instructions provided in Connecting FortiMonitor and CloudWatch.
-
Under Services, select ELBv2.
Metrics
The following table describes the metrics supported by FortiMonitor for ELBv2.
See https://docs.aws.amazon.com/elasticloadbalancing/latest/application/load-balancer-cloudwatch-metrics.html for more information.
Metric |
Unit |
Description |
---|---|---|
Active Connection Count |
Count |
The total number of simultaneous TCP connections active from clients to the load balancer and from the load balancer to targets. |
Client TLS Negotiation Error Count |
Count |
The number of TLS connections initiated by the client that did not establish a session with the load balancer |
Active Flow Count |
Count |
The total number of concurrent flows (or connections) from clients to targets. |
Consumed LCUs |
Count |
The number of load balancer capacity units (LCU) used by your load balancer. |
Healthy Host Count |
Count |
The number of targets that are considered healthy. |
New Flow Count |
Count |
The total number of new flows (or connections) established from clients to targets in the time period. |
TCP Client Reset Count |
Count |
The total number of reset (RST) packets sent from a client to a target. |
TCP ELB Reset Count |
Count |
The total number of reset (RST) packets generated by the load balancer. |
TCP Target Reset Count |
Count |
The total number of reset (RST) packets sent from a target to a client. |
HTTP Code ELB 4XX Count |
Count |
The number of HTTP 4xx error codes that originate from the load balancer. |

Count |
The number of HTTP 4xx response codes generated by the targets. |
HTTP Code Target 5XX Count |
Count |
The number of HTTP 5xx response codes generated by the targets. |
IPv6 Processed Bytes |
Bytes |
The total number of bytes processed by the load balancer over IPv6. |
IPv6 Request Count |
Count |
The number of IPv6 requests received by the load balancer. |
New Connection Count |
Count |
The total number of new TCP connections established from clients to the load balancer and from the load balancer to targets. |
Processed Bytes |
Count |
The total number of bytes processed by the load balancer over IPv4 and IPv6. |
Rejected Connection Count |
Count |
The number of connections that were rejected because the load balancer had reached its maximum number of connections. |
Request Count |
Count |
The number of requests processed over IPv4 and IPv6. |
Request Count Per Target |
Count |
The average number of requests received by each target in a target group. |
Rule Evaluations |
Count |
The number of rules processed by the load balancer given a request rate averaged over an hour. |
Target Connection Error Count |
Count |
The number of connections that were not successfully established between the load balancer and target. |
Target Response Time |
Seconds |
The time elapsed, in seconds, after the request leaves the load balancer until a response from the target is received. |
Target TLS Negotiation Error Count |
Count |
The number of TLS connections initiated by the load balancer that did not establish a session with the target. |
UnHealthy Host Count |
Count |
The number of targets that are considered unhealthy. |
