Set up SD-WAN application monitoring

Perform the following steps to set up application synthetic monitoring over SD-WAN underlays:

1. From the navigation menu, click Monitoring > Applications.
   

2. Select an application or create a new one.

3. Click the application to open its page.

4. Go to Monitoring > Checks.

5. Click Add Check.
   

6. In the Add Check modal, click Synthetic Checks located under the SD-WAN group.
   

7. Select one or more Source SD-WANs and Target FQDNs/IPs.
   
   You also have the option to edit the check frequency and the Alert Timeline.
   

8. Click Save.

Verify the configuration

To verify that you have successfully configured SD-WAN application monitoring, go back to the application's page. Under the Status & Availability section, you should be able to see the status of the SD-WAN devices.

Next, go to Monitoring > Performance then select SD-WANs as a location filter. Verify that metrics are being collected.

Add SD-WAN synthetic checks to an existing application

To add SD-WAN synthetic checks to an existing application, perform the following steps:

1. On the Applications page, select an application.

2. Click Checks.

3. Click Add Check.

4. In the Add Check modal, click Synthetic Checks located under the SD-WAN group.
   

5. Select one or more Source SD-WANs and Target FQDNs/IPs. You also have the option to edit the check frequency and the Alert Timeline.

6. Click Save.
