Active Incident Counter

Active Incident Counter

The Active Incident Counter widget displays the count of all active incidents in your infrastructure, based on the configuration of the widget. You can filter which incidents are included based on specific metric types or severity.

Use case

The Active Incident Counter widget is useful when:

  • Monitoring the total number of active incidents in your infrastructure

  • You want to see the number of specific incidents by metric or by severity

Examples

All active incidents

The widget shows the total number of incidents in your infrastructure.

Configuration

When creating or editing a widget, a drawer that shows the widget's configuration options slides out from the right. Each configurable option is described in the following table.

Field

Description

Widget name

Name of the widget as it appears on the dashboard.

This field shows the default name of the widget. Select the pen icon to rename the widget.

Severity levels

Select which severity level will be included in the calculated number of incidents. For example, selecting Critical displays the number of all critical incidents.

Values:

  • Critical

  • Warning

  • All

Metrics

Add the metrics that you want to include in the calculation of total incidents.

Filter metrics

You can also use the filters to fine-tune your search results.

Values:

  • No filter

  • By tags

  • By option string

Instances

Filter instances by the following:

  • No filter

  • Tags

  • Group

  • Name

The instances selected here will be included in the counter when incidents occur.

Hide incidents

Choose which incidents you do not want to include in the number of incidents displayed on the widget.

Values:

  • Hide acknowledged incidents

  • Hide incidents under maintenance

Dashboard Scoping Adherence

Enabling this option will allow you to bypass Dashboard-level scoping.
