Viewing interface statistics
From the primary FIM, you can add Interface History dashboard widgets to view traffic in and traffic out and total traffic information about the traffic passing through any FortiGate-7000 interface. You can add an Interface Bandwidth widget to the dashboard for:
- Any physical interface
- Any link aggregation (LAG) interface
- Any member of a LAG
- Any VLAN interface
- Any IPsec VPN tunnel interface
- Any redundant interface
The displayed data includes all of the traffic processed by the interface, independent of how the traffic is load balanced.
You can add individual Interface History widgets for each interface that you want to monitor. When adding the widget you can select the interface to monitor and select different time periods for which to display data. The data displayed on the widget updates in real time if you select enable refresh. You can also scan your cursor over the graph on the widget to see traffic in and out of the interface, and the total traffic for different times on the graph.
From the CLI, for physical interfaces, you can use the diagnose hardware deviceinfo nic <interface-name>
command to view transmitted and received packets.
For LAG and VLAN interfaces you can display transmitted and received packets using the diagnose netlink interface list <interface-name>
command.
