Override and primary FortiGate-7000 selection

Enabling override changes the order of primary FortiGate-7000 selection. If you have enabled override, primary FortiGate-7000 selection considers priority before up time and serial number. This means that if you set the device priority higher for one FortiGate-7000, with override enabled this FortiGate-7000 becomes the primary FortiGate-7000 even if its uptime and serial number are lower than the other FortiGate-7000.

Enter the following command to enable override.

config system ha

set override enable

end

When override is enabled primary FortiGate-7000 selection checks the traffic bandwidth score, aggregate interface state, management interface links and FPM failures first. Any of these factors can affect primary chassis selection, even if you have enabled override.
