The following list highlights some of the new features and enhancements introduced in this release:

Feature and enhancement Description

Call center report retention options

Adds Retention time and Max records options (Phone System > Setting > Miscellaneous) for keeping call center reports.

Call forwarding without PIN

Adds the Call forwarding PIN toggle.

If disabled, phone users can set up call forwarding without entering their voicemail PIN.

You can access this new toggle in Phone System > Profile > User Privilege, Advanced Setting.

Cisco multiplatform phone firmware

Adds the multiplatform phone (MPP) firmware support for Cisco 78xx and 88xx IP phones.

Note: When Cisco CP78xx and Cisco CP88xx phones are identified as MPP, their product IDs (PID) include 3PCC.

Enhanced branch paging in the FortiVoice local survivable gateway (LSG) solution

Adds the Reject paging from other branch option in Managed System > Survivability > Survivability Branch.

Enhanced LSG emergency call handling capabilities

Allows enhanced emergency call handling capabilities in the LSG solution that is using the Handled by Branch setting.

The main office FortiVoice phone system can push the following settings to the FortiVoice LSG unit at the branch office:

  • Email settings and configuration

  • Emergency zones (dynamic and static) and profiles

FortiFone FON-580B phone

Adds the support of this new Fortinet IP desk phone model.

FortiVoice 50G2

Adds the support of the new FortiVoice appliance model, FVE-50G2.

FortiVoice Gateways GO04 and GS04

Adds the support of the following new gateways:

  • FVG-GO04, for 4 traditional telephone lines (FXO)
  • FVG-GS04, for 4 analog extensions
FXS port support on FVE-20E2, FVE-50E6, and FVE-50G2 in LSG fully managed mode

Adds the FXS port support on FVE-20E2, FVE-50E6, and FVE-50G2 models in a local survivable gateway (LSG) fully managed mode.

Phone management job enhancements

Adds two new statuses (Notifying Count and Notifying Timeout Count) to track the phone configuration file update status in phone management jobs (System > Maintenance > Phone Maintenance Job).

Adds the Last Phone Config Update column in the following menus:

  • Phone System > Device > Phone
  • Monitor > Extension & Device > Phone
  • Monitor > Extension & Device > Soft FortiFone

Registration retry interval

Adds this setting to specify the time interval for sending another phone registration retry after a phone registration failure.

To access this setting, go to Phone System > Profile > Phone and create a new profile or open an existing one.

This setting applies to FON-x80/x80B phones only.

Remote system logging for FortiVoice GS16 gateways

Allows the storage of FVG-GS16 log messages remotely on a syslog server or a FortiAnalyzer unit.

Web service settings

Allows you to prevent the FortiVoice system from being overloaded with external requests by setting limits for concurrent requests, admin portal active sessions, and request rate.

The ranges and default values vary depending on the FortiVoice model and number of desktop and mobile softclient app users. If you use 0 as a value, it means that there is no limitation. If you have a busy FortiVoice environment, the default values may be too small and you may need to make some adjustments.

To access the settings, go to Security > Rate Limit > Web Service.

Yealink conference phones CP925 and CP965

Adds the Yealink conference phones CP925 and CP965 as supported third-party phones.

The phones require a third-party phone license.

Yealink W70B phone

Adds the Yealink W70B phone as a supported third-party phone.

This phone requires a third-party phone license.
