SNMP v3 users
The FortiPortal SNMP v3 implementation includes support for queries, traps, authentication, and privacy. SNMP v3 users can be created, edited, and deleted as required.
To create a new SNMP user:
- Go to System Settings > Advanced > SNMP and enable the SNMP agent.
- In the SNMP v3 section, select Create New in the toolbar.
The New SNMP User pane opens.
- Configure the following options and then select OK to create the community.
User Name |
The name of the SNMP v3 user. |
Security Level |
The security level of the user. Select one of the following:

Notification Hosts |
The IP address or addresses of the host. Select the add icon to add multiple IP addresses. |
Queries |
Select to enable queries and change the port number if needed. The default port is 161. |
SNMP Event |
Enable the events that will cause SNMP traps to be sent to the SNMP manager.

To edit an SNMP user:
- Go to System Settings > Advanced > SNMP.
- In the SNMP v3 section, select Edit in the row of a user that you want to edit.
The Edit SNMP User pane opens. - Edit the settings as required and then select OK to apply your changes.
To delete an SNMP user:
- Go to System Settings > Advanced > SNMP.
- In the SNMP v3 section, select Delete in the row of the user that you want to delete
- Select OK in the confirmation dialog box to delete the selected user or users.
