Scenario 1: Default RFC5176 Settings

In the default RFC 5176 settings, FortiNAC will send disconnect messages to 802.1x authenticated hosts when switching VLAN.

  1. To use default settings, go Network > Inventory > Virtualized Devices configuration of the FortiGate.

  2. In module configurations, select “System defined” as the RFC5176 mode.

  3. When the status of a host is changed, for example, if the host switches VLAN, a disconnect request with only the Calling-Station-Id attribute will be sent.
