Scenario 5: Custom – Daisy Chain

Scenario 5: Custom – Daisy Chain

If the hosts connected to the port are daisy-chained, like in a typical IP Phone setup, you can configure FortiNAC to send unique attributes to this port.

When a host on a port is connecting to an IP Phone which is with daisy-chain setup, FortiNAC will only use the Daisy Chain settings to send DM/CoA Messages even if both multiple Connection and Daisy Chain settings are enabled and configured.

Example

Here, an IP phone is connecting to the port, and a host is connecting to the IP Phone. On RFC5176 Setting device level, enable and configure both RFC5176 – Multiple Connection and RFC5176 - Daisy Chain. Logical network settings do not matter here.

FortiNAC is using the settings in RFC5176 - Daisy Chain sections, since it has the highest priority.
