Calendar

FortiMail webmail calendar enables you to schedule daily events, send event reminders, and download or upload calendar data.

The calendar icon is located at the top right of the page.

You can download calendar data for backup purpose or importing it into other email tools, such as Microsoft Outlook or Google Mail. You can also upload calendar data downloaded before or from other email tools.

The downloaded file is in ICS (.ics) format which is a computer filename extension used to designate a file containing (an arbitrary set of) calendaring and scheduling information consistent with calendar.

To add a folder
  1. Go to Calendar.
  2. Under My Calendar, click the + icon to create a New Calendar.
  3. Enter a name for the calendar.
  4. Click Add.

You may also import calendars by clicking the + icon under Shared Calendar.

To schedule an event
  1. Go to Calendar > My Calendar > Personal.
  2. Click New.
  3. In Calendar Event, enter the information for the event.
  4. To add event details, click View event details.
  5. Among other options, you may manually send reminders to attendees. Organizer display name support is also available.

  6. Click OK.
  7. If you have configured a reminder, a reminder email will be sent to the attendees you entered.

To view calendar information
  1. Click Calendar.
  2. Select a calendar folder.
  3. Click the icon that goes with your cursor.
  4. Click Properties.
To share your calendar with internal users
  1. Click Calendar.
  2. Select a folder under My Calendar.
  3. Click the icon that goes with your cursor.
  4. Click Share.
  5. Click Create New to specify the internal users allowed to access your calendar.
  6. Choose the permission.
  7. Click OK.
To upload calendar data
  1. Click Calendar.
  2. Select a folder under My Calendar.
  3. Click the icon that goes with your cursor.
  4. Click Import and choose the file to upload.
  5. Click Submit.
To download calendar data
  1. Click Calendar.
  2. Select a calendar folder.
  3. Click the icon that goes with your cursor.
  4. Click Export and save the file.

Calendar sharing

If your system administrator enable the WebDAV and CalDAV services on FortiMail, you can share your calendars and free/busy information to public or internal users, import calendars shared by internal or Internet users. You can also schedule an event or a meeting by checking the shared free/busy information of the attendees.

To share calendars with other users
  1. Click Calendar.
  2. Select a calendar folder.
  3. Click the icon that goes with your cursor.
  4. Click Properties.
  5. Enter a display name and description.
  6. Select Allow public access.
To import calendars shared by other users
  1. Click Calendar.
  2. Click + beside Shared Calendar.
  3. Enter the display name.
  4. If you are importing a calendar shared by the same domain users, for Type, select Same domain, then select the publisher name from the Publisher dropdown list.
  5. If you want to import a publicly shared calendar from the Internet calendar service, such as Gmail and Yahoo mail, for Type, select Internet, then enter the URL of the shared calendar.
  6. Click Create.

Calendar sharing
