NP7 queue-based traffic management

You can use the following command to enable Queuing based Traffic Management (QTM) to change how NP7 processors manage traffic shaping and QoS.

config system npu

set default-qos-type {policing | shaping}

end

The FortiGate restarts after changing the QoS type.

policing, (the default) NP7 traffic shaping uses the NP7 TPE module. TPE is the NP7 accounting and traffic shaping module.

shaping enable QTM. QTM schedules traffic in queues by implementing variations of a round robin algorithm. In most cases, this method will be more stable than using the NP7 TPE module and will also improve performance for traffic shaping applied by NP7 processors.

QTM is not compatible with hyperscale firewall features.
