New Features

Auto upgrade EMS to latest patch release 7.2.5

Auto upgrade EMS to latest patch release 7.2.5

Once a new EMS patch releases, EMS displays an upgrade prompt with the following options:

  • Upgrade immediately
  • Schedule the upgrade at a convenient time

While EMS operates, it consistently pings FortiCloud to retrieve the entitlement status and the latest patch release information. This feature encourages customers to upgrade to the latest patch releases, which can help with vulnerability detection.

When a new patch upgrade is available, EMS displays a popup. The popup presents upgrade options. You can upgrade immediately or schedule the upgrade for a later update, up to 30 days in advance. The default scheduled time is three months from the current date, after which EMS must upgrade to the latest patch.

To schedule an upgrade, click Schedule Upgrade. Select the desired date and time from the displayed calendar. You can select a date up to 30 days in the future.

After you have scheduled an upgrade, you can modify it by clicking Edit in the upper right corner of the GUI. This option is only available if it is at least 14 days before the scheduled upgrade.

If you click Upgrade Now or when the scheduled upgrade time arrives, a countdown popup appears in the bottom right corner five minutes before the upgrade.
