Scheduled creation mode
Hardware entitlements can be created and scheduled to take effect at a set date in the future.
When Scheduled creation mode is selected, the following rules apply:
-
The Start Date is automatically set to the earliest contract expiration date among all active contracts associated with the selected device serial number (SN).
-
Devices with contracts that have already expired are not eligible for scheduled activation. To activate FortiFlex entitlements for these devices, use Immediate activation mode.
-
The Start Date cannot be the same as the FortiFlex program expiration date.
-
The Start Date and End Date must be different.
-
All date and time calculations are based on Pacific Time (PT).
-
Scheduling a device does not prevent a standard contract from being registered on that device before the scheduled activation occurs. If a standard contract is registered, the scheduler will still activate the FortiFlex entitlement on the scheduled date and overwrite the existing contract. If FortiFlex entitlement activation is no longer required, users must manually cancel the scheduled activation before the Start Date.
-
A maximum of 1,000 serial numbers (SNs) can be included in a single scheduling request.
-
Scheduled activations will not be processed if the associated FortiFlex program is in a grace period on the Start Date.
-
Entitlements are activated at 3:00 AM PT on the configured Start Date.
