System configuration checklist

System configuration checklist

The System configuration checklist is located in the banner next the CLI Console. This checklist automatically detects the status of key configurations to ensure a normal operational state and warns you when an action is required. To modify the configurations, click the recommendation in the list to be redirected to the respective configuration page. To ignore a warning, click the alarm clock icon to turn it off.

Expired and invalid licenses

Renew the service contract and upload the new license file.

Network configured

Port link down, no static route, etc.

Check network configuration and connection, whether there is a port down, or DNS and routing misconfigurations.

Engines downloaded

No valid trace and rating engines, FDN Connection or Download Failure

Check if the license is valid, FortiGuard configuration and FDN server connection.

Default VM installed

No default VM installed

Install the default VM. Only for VM models.

This item is not supported in Public Cloud Models (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI).

VM internet connectivity

Port3 cannot access the internet

Go to System >Settings page and enable the VM External Network Access.

This item is not supported in Public Cloud Models (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI).

Dynamic scan configured

No any VM clones enabled

Enable at least one VM clone.

Not available in the Cluster environment

VM file type associated

No enabled clones associated with the filetype

Go to Scan Profile page to associate the proper filetypes to the enabled VMs.

Latest firmware

New firmware upgrade is available

Update the firmware to the latest version. Click the warning item, and navigate to the firmware upgrade page. The upgradable firmware should be listed.

Remote logging

No log server is configured and enabled

Configure logging to a remote server (for example, FortiAnalyzer, Syslog).
