Deploy FortiSandbox-VM from Marketplace

Initial deployment of the FortiSandbox-VM

  1. Go to OCI Marketplace, search Fortinet FortiSandbox Zero-Day Threat Protection. Select the product to enter the product details page.

  2. Click Launch Instance.

  3. Configure the required parameters and download the Private key. After you have configured the parameters, click Create. Wait until the PROVISIONING status changes to RUNNING.

    For more information about the parameters, see Deployment parameters.

    NameEnter a name for the instance.
    ShapeSelect a shape for the instance.
    Primary network Select the VCN you created.
    Subnet Select the Port 1 subnet you created.
    Public IPv4 addressSelect Assign a public IPv4 address option.
    Tooltip
    • The private key is located in the Add SSH keys section.

    • You can use the default settings for the Boot volume section.

  4. Go to Storage > Block Volumes.
    1. Click Create Block Volume.
    2. Set Volume Size to a minimum of 500GB.
    3. Click Create Block Volume. And wait for the message, Block Volume Available.

  5. Go to Compute > Instances.
    1. Click the FortiSandbox VM instance you created.
    2. Click the Attached block volumes tab.
    3. Click Attach block volume.
    4. Click Select Volume and set the Volume in xxxx to the volume you created
    5. Set the Attachment type to Paravirtualized.
    6. Click Attach. Wait for attach process to finish.

  6. Add the new interface for Port 2.
    1. Click Attached VNICs tab.
    2. Click Create VNIC.
    3. Enter a Name for the Port 2 interface.
    4. Select a virtual cloud network (VCN) and the Port 2 subnet you created before.
    5. (Optional) Enter the Private IP address.
    6. Click Save changes. Wait for attach process to complete.

  7. Repeat Step 6 to add a new interface for Port 3.
  8. Reboot the FortiSandbox-VM instance. Allow approximately 10 minutes for the instance to boot up the first time.

Deployment parameters:

Name

Enter the FortiSandbox-VM instance name.

Availability domain

The availability domain helps determine which shapes are available.

Shape

A shape is a template that determines the number of CPUs, amount of memory, and other resources allocated to a newly created instance. The customized VM feature, requires Intel VM.Standard3.Flex with at least 8 OCPU and 64GB memory.

Primary network

Select Virtual cloud network.

Subnet

Select the Port 1 Subnet you created before.

Public IPv4 address

Select Assign a public IPv4 address for Port 1.

Port 1 will be used to access and manage FortiSandbox.

Add SSH keys

Connect to FortiSandbox-VM without entering the password.
