Interact with a VM clone during the scan
When a Windows clone is scanning a file, it is helpful to access it and monitor the scan process. The Guest VM Running mode behaves differently between Nested and Non-Nested units:
- Nested: Uses the internal VNC monitor that is easier to access.
- Non-Nested: Uses the RDP to access the running Guest VM.
To interact with a VM clone during a scan:
- Go to Scan Job > File On-Demand or URL on-Demand and click Submit File or Submit File/URL.
- Enable Advanced Options > Force to scan the URL inside the VM and enable the Allow Interaction option.
- Select Force to scan inside the following VMs and select the custom VM.
- Click Submit.
- Go to Scan Job > VM Job.
- For Nested units: Click the VM interact icon when enabled to open the VNC monitor directly.
- For Non-Nested units:
- In the pop-up window, click the Establish a Tunnel for Remote Desktop button.
- Launch an RDP connection from your local PC. RDP login credentials:
- User Name:
administrator
- Password: The unit’s serial number. This should be displayed on the GCP VM instance console and the dashboard.
