Add or edit an SSID

Add or edit an SSID

To add or edit an SSID interface:
  1. In WiFi > Configuration > SSIDs:

    • Click Create New to add a new SSID interface.

    • Select an interface and click Edit to edit an existing interface.

  2. In the form, enter or update the following information:

    Enter a unique name for the inteface.

    Type

    The type is automatically set to WiFi SSID and is not editable.

    Address

    Enter the IPv4 IP address and netmask for this SSID.

    SSID

    Y

    Enter the SSID name.

    Passphrase

    Y

    Enter the pre-shared key passphrase.

    Available only when Security Mode is set to WPA2-Personal.

    SAE Password

    Y

    Enter the password to use for access.

    Available only when Security Mode is set to WPA3 SAE.

    Security mode

    Y

    Select the security mode for the wireless interface.

    Tooltip

    Depending on how your system has been configured by your administrator, you will see the simplified form above or the longer advanced form with the additional options below.

    Traffic mode

    Tunnel: Tunnel to wireless controller. Data for WLAN passes through the WiFi controller. This is the only option for SSID traffic mode.

    Administrative Access

    N

    Select the administrative access types to allow for this SSID.

    DHCP Status

    Y

    Enable or disable the DHCP server.

    Address Range

    N

    Specify the range or multiple ranges of IP addresses.

    Netmask

    Y

    Specify the netmask for the assigned address range.

    Default Gateway

    N

    Set the default gateway.

    DNS Server

    N

    Set the DNS server.

    Lease Time

    N

    Set the lease time for assigned addresses.

    Device detection

    Y

    Enable or disable device detection.

    Client Limit

    Y

    Enable and specify or disable the limit on the number of clients allowed in the SSID.

    Broadcast SSID

    Y

    Enable or disable broadcast of SSID. By default, the SSID is broadcast.

    Beacon advertising

    N

    Select the vendor specific elements to advertise over beacon frames.

    Mode

    Y

    Disable or select single encryption key mode.

    Available only when Security Mode is set to WPA2-Personal.

    Schedule

    Y

    Specify when this SSID is available.

    Block intra-SSID traffic

    Y

    Enable or disable blocking of intra-SSID traffic.

    Optional VLAN-ID

    Enter the ID of the VLAN this SSID belongs to.

    Broadcast supression

    Enable or disable broadcast suppression, and select the details to suppress from broadcast.

    Comments

    N

    Enter any needed description or comments.

    Status

    Y

    Enable or disable this SSID interface.

  3. Click Save.

To add or edit an SSID interface:
  1. In WiFi > Configuration > SSIDs:

    • Click Create New to add a new SSID interface.

    • Select an interface and click Edit to edit an existing interface.

  2. In the form, enter or update the following information:
