Back up database entries when upgrading from FortiPortal 5.3.6 or later

Back up database entries when upgrading from FortiPortal 5.3.6 or later

Due to a technical limitation, some database entries must be backed up and restored prior to upgrading the FortiPortal.

To back up database entries before upgrading FortiPortal:
  1. Contact your Fortinet support channel to obtain the before_upgrade.sh backup tool.
  2. Run the backup tool on a Linux machine.
  3. Enter IP address, port, and credentials to the database.

    For example:

    fpc@fpc-virtual-machine:~/Desktop$ sh before_upgrade.sh

    -e Warning: This script only works for 5.2.6+ upgrade to 5.3.x OR 5.3.6+ upgrade to 6.0.x.

    Enter SQL DB IP/HOST: 172.18.26.132

    Enter SQL DB PORT: 3306

    Enter SQL DB USERNAME: fpc

    Enter SQL DB PASSWORD: fpc

    -e Backing up necessary entries ...

    -e Adjusing tables ...

    -e Success!! Please proceed with uploading the .out image to your FPC.
