    Best practices

    The following are best practices for deploying FortiPolicy in a data center.

    • Use the asset map to search for known workloads. The asset map is located in the Insights > Maps page in the FortiPolicy GUI.

    • Identify the immediate parent FortiGate device and VDOM and create a data plane for every VDOM you want to discover, monitor, and protect.

    • Any workloads that you want to protect should be on a LAN segment that belongs to the primary LAN interface.
