Special Notices

This section highlights some of the operational guidelines that administrators should be aware of in Wireless Manager (FortiWLM) MEA 8.5.1 Beta 1:

  • RF Planner only supports FortiAP-U models, that is Universal APs.
  • Third-party devices cannot query Wireless Manager (FortiWLM) MEA data using SNMP.
  • SNMP Traps use port 10162 to receive the AP down alarm from FortiGates, hence configure SNMP v1/v2c with traps configured to use port number 10162 as the local port and as the remote port.
  • Application control data is supported on FortiOS versions 6.2.2 and later, and only when the logs are retrieved from the FortiGate disk.
  • Station activity logs are supported on FortiOS versions 6.2.0 and later, and may be accessed from the disk, FortiCloud, or FortiAnalyzer.
  • The Retry (%) and Loss (%) data on the AP Dashboard is not available.
  • The SNR (dBm) data on the AP Dashboard is available on FortiOS versions 6.2.2 and later.
  • The Retry (%), Loss (%), and Channel Utilization (%) data on the Station Dashboard is not available.
Caution
Wireless Manager (FortiWLM) MEA not accessible after upgrading FortiManager to 6.4.2

If Wireless Manager (FortiWLM) MEA was enabled in FortiManager 6.4.1, you can no longer access it in the FortiManager GUI when you upgrade FortiManager to 6.4.2. When you try to access FortiWLM, you are redirected to the FortiManager dashboard.
