New Features

FortiLAN Cloud 22.3 delivers the following features/enhancements to FortiLAN Cloud.

FortiLAN Cloud

These are the new features/enhancements for FortiLAN Cloud.

Feature

Description

Licensing

An additional 60 days grace period is now given to any device with a valid license that is expiring. After the grace period, the devices cannot connect, but can retain their configuration.

MSSP REST API Endpoints

New REST APIs are added for MSSP sub-account management and account users management.

  • Configure the folder/sub-account
  • Associate network with folder/sub-account
  • Configure External IDP role and bond the sub-account

The following new APIs are added.

  • /api/v1/account/subaccounts/
  • /api/v1/account/subaccounts/{oid}
  • /api/v1/account/subaccounts/{oid}/users/
  • /api/v1/account/subaccounts/{oid}/users/{useroid}/
  • /api/v1/account/subaccounts/{oid}/networks/
  • /api/v1/account/subaccounts/{oid}/networks/{nwoid}/

User Interface enhancements

Migration of FortiLAN Cloud user interface pages (wireless and FortiSwitch) to Angular/Neutrino.

Others

  • Enhanced the email alert notification sent out when a FortiAP is about to go offline.
  • The MAC address is now retained after the FortiAP goes offline.
  • The Last seen time is added for both FortiAP and FortiSwitch.
Wireless

These are the new features/enhancements for FortiAPs.

Feature

Description

Adaptive Radio Architecture

The Adaptive Radio Architecture (ARA) centralizes and improves the overall efficiency of the wireless network in high traffic conditions. Dynamic Radio Mode Assignment (DRMA) is a feature in ARA that enables FortiAPs to calculate the network coverage factor (NCF) based on radio interference.

Automatic Tx power enhancement

In this release, you can configure the interference level as per your wireless network deployment. This feature allows you to configure the target Tx power.

WIDS support The WIDS (Wireless Intrusion Detection System) monitors wireless traffic for a wide range of security threats by detecting and reporting possible intrusion attempts.
DARRP channel bandwidth This release enhances the DARRP functionality, by including the channel width of the radio as a parameter to determine the optimal channel for wireless communication.
Interfering AP data The Neighbour AP dashboard page now displays interfering AP data along with rogue APs. The dashboard displays the sources of interference that can be from the same network (Infrastructure) or a rogue device.
Captive portal enhancements

The following captive portal enhancements are delivered in this release.

  • Newer TLS versions
  • Additional authentication protocols (PAP/CHAP/MS-CHAPv1/MS-CHAPv2)
  • Additional authentication attributes (Service-Type, Framed-IP-Address, Called-Station-Id, and Calling-Station-Id in the outgoing RADIUS access-request packet).
Switch

Routing configuration support is added for FortiSwitches.

Feature

Description

Routing support

Routing configuration is now supported on FortiSwitches managed by FortiLAN Cloud. You can add/modify the following configurations are a part of the ZTC.

  • Static
  • IPv6 Static
  • Link Probes
  • OSPF
  • RIP
  • Multicast
  • Multicast Flows

Routing information and interfaces are monitored on the Routing Table and Link Monitor pages.
