Hardware Acceleration

What's new for FortiOS 7.4.8

What's new for FortiOS 7.4.8

This section lists the new hardware acceleration features added to FortiOS 7.4.8:

  • Changes to NP7 traffic shaping. To resolve issues with the NP7 Queuing based Traffic Management (QTM) module, on FortiGates with NP7 processors you can no longer use the following command to change QoS type used for traffic shaping for sessions offloaded to NP7 processors.

    config system npu

    set default-qos-type {policing | shaping}

    end

    Instead, default-qos-type can only be set to policing.

    This change does not affect FortiGates with NP7Lite (SOC5) processors.

    For more information, see NP7 and NP7Lite (SOC5) traffic shaping.
