What's new for FortiOS 7.2.4

This section lists the new hardware accelerations features added to FortiOS 7.2.4.

  • Traffic that passes through two EMAC-VLAN interfaces with NP7 offloading enabled is processed by the CPU and will not be offloaded to NP7 processors, see NP7 fastpath and EMAC VLANs.

  • You can use the ple-non-syn-tcp-action option of the config system npu command to protect a FortiGate with NP7 processors from non-SYN TCP attacks, see ple-non-syn-tcp-action {drop | forward}.

  • You can use the shaping-stats option of the config system npu command to record traffic shaper statistics for sessions offloaded to NP7 processors, see Recording NP7 traffic shaping statistics.

For information about FortiOS 7.2.4 NP7 hyperscale firewall features, see the FortiOS 7.2.4 Hyperscale Firewall Guide.
