Modifying ARP request behavior for NAT VDOMs

Modifying ARP request behavior for NAT VDOMs

You can use the following command to enable or disable ARP table synchronization behavior for NAT VDOMs:

config load-balance setting

set neighbor-entry-sync {disable | enable}

end

By default, this option is disabled and each FPM independently generates and maintains its own ARP table. This autonomy can result in an increased volume of ARP requests on the network, potentially leading to issues in large WiFi networks or networks with ARP suppression (as described in More ARP queries than expected for one device - potential issue on large WiFi networks.)

If this option is enabled, the FortiGate 7000F will minimize the number of ARP requests sent to the network by performing ARP table synchronization internally.
