Pushing a VPN profile created in Intune to FortiClient (iOS)

To push a VPN profile created in Intune to FortiClient (iOS):
  1. In Intune, go to Devices > iOS/iPadOS > Configuration profiles > Create > New Policy > Templates > VPN.
  2. Configure a name and description as desired.
  3. From the Connection type dropdown list, select Custom VPN.
  4. In the VPN Identifier field, enter com.fortinet.forticlient.fabricagent.

  5. Configure other fields as desired.
  6. Assign the profile to the desired users and groups. After the device syncs with Intune, FortiClient (iOS) lists the VPN profile under MDM VPN Gateway.

Note

Intune does not have fields to pass username and password credentials when selecting Username and Password for authentication. A workaround is to manually connect to VPN via the FortiClient app and enable Save Password.
