Web Filter
Web Filter allows you to block, allow, warn, and monitor web traffic based on URL category or custom URL filters. FortiGuard Distribution Network (FDN) handles URL categorization. You can create a custom URL filter exclusion list that overrides the FDN category.

In standalone mode, this tab displays as Web Security. In managed mode, this tab displays as Web Filter. This document refers to this tab mainly as the Web Filter tab. |

If FortiClient is unable to contact FortiGuard, FortiClient blocks all web traffic by default. To configure FortiClient to allow web traffic when FortiGuard is unreachable, see the FortiClient XML Reference Guide. |
