Licensing

CTAP Cloud requires licenses to perform assessments. Typically, licenses are purchased through FortiPoints (such as LIC-FPTS-1K). Once FortiPoints have been purchased, partners can apply those points towards CTAP Cloud engagement licenses in the FortiMarketplace. Once applied, CTAP Cloud engagement licenses must be used within one year. For more information, see CTAP in the FortiCloud Asset Management guide.

A free test license is provided for lab use. When performing an assessment, choose the Use my 1 free test/lab assessment checkbox to indicate you'd like to use your test license. This test license will not be counted against any purchased licenses. That said, Fortinet only provides a limited amount of log space for test assessments (so the log sample isn't normally sufficient for production assessments).

While we are effectively charging a nominal fee to perform production assessments, we also credit your account when a successful assessment is performed. It's considered a successful assessment when a deal registration/opportunity associated with an assessment is revenue generating. Once a successful assessment is marked Complete, it should credit your account within 24 hours.
