Using dashboards

Using dashboards

You can use the dashboard GUI to view fabric devices in the security fabric. You can also combine widgets to create custom dashboards.

To view downstream fabric devices in the GUI:
  1. At the right side of the dashboard, click the device dropdown and select a device.

    Note

    The device dropdown is available in the Status, Security, Network, Users & Devices, and WiFi dashboards. You can also enable the dropdown when you create a dashboard.

To create a new dashboard in the GUI:
  1. In the banner, click Dashboard Actions > Create New. The Add Dashboard window opens.
  2. Configure the dashboard options:
    1. In the Name field, enter the dashboard name.
    2. In the Layout Type area, select a dashboard layout.
    3. Option

      Description

      Responsive The number of columns the dashboard has is determined by screen size. Widgets can only be re-sized horizontally, but the dashboard will look good on all screen sizes.
      NOC The number of columns the dashboard has is explicitly set. Widgets can be re-sized both vertically and horizontally, but the dashboard will look best on the screen size it's originally set up on. This option will work best for a Network Operation Center dashboard.
      Standalone Only one widget can be added as full-size.
    4. In the FortiGate Selection area, enable the device dropdown.

      Option

      Description

      Dashboard Enables the device dropdown allowing you to view downstream devices.
      Widget Displays data for the device selected at the time you create the dashboard.
    5. Click OK.
    Tooltip

    You can also use a widget to create a new dashboard. See Using widgets.

To add a widget to a dashboard in the GUI:
  1. In the tree menu, select a dashboard.
  2. (Optional) Click the device dropdown, and select a device in the network.
  3. In the banner, click Add Widget. The Add Dashboard Widget window opens.
  4. Click the widgets you want to add to the dashboard.
  5. Click Close.
To delete a dashboard in the GUI:
  1. In the tree menu, select a widget.
  2. Click Dashboard Actions > Delete. The Confirm window opens.
  3. Click OK.
To reset the all the dashboards to the default widgets:
  1. In the tree menu, select a widget.
  2. Click Dashboard Actions > Reset All. The Confirm window opens.
  3. Click OK.
