Overview

Overview

This document provides an introduction to RFC5176 CoA/Disconnect Message implementation in FortiNAC, as well as an example of how to use the feature.

What it Does

Before version F 7.4, FortiNAC didn’t support standard CoA messages, only supporting Disconnect Message. FortiNAC could not trigger a CoA message to bounce the port after successful authentication. From F 7.4+, FortiNAC fully supports the following:

  • CoA messages in addition to Disconnect Message capability

  • The ability to configure RFC5176 Settings, which includes the message type, the port, and the required AVPairs, including standard or vendor specific attributes, that are to be sent in the request message. This will allow the administrator to force a port bounce via RADIUS CoA message.

  • RFC5176 settings can be also configured to logical networks like the current Radius authentication attribute groups.

Requirements

  • Versions FortiNAC F 7.4+
