Introduction

FortiMail units can operate in one of the two HA modes: Active-Passive or Active-Active. For more details about HA modes, refer to the section “Using high availability (HA)” in the FortiMail Administration Guide.

This document describes how to set up FortiMail Active-Passive HA on OCI. Note that it’s necessary to use an OCI supplementary mechanism and a load balancer for detecting the healthy status of FortiMail instances and distributing the traffic.

This document assumes that you have deployed one FortiMail instance on OCI by following the instructions in the FortiMail OCI Deployment Guide.
