This information is also available in the FortiManager 7.4 Administration Guide: |
FortiManager system backup and restore operations adds mandatory password, and the backup file is encrypted with AES256.
- On FortiManager 7.4.1 and earlier, when backing up there is an option to enable/disable encryption. When the setting was enabled and a password was supplied, database encryption is enabled.
- On FortiManager 7.4.2 and later, configuration of an encryption password is mandatory and AES 256 is used. There is no option to disable encryption on the backup file.
Attempting to configure a backup without specifying a password is not possible.
