The term Hub-to-Edge SD-WAN refers to the problem of intelligent steering of the traffic originated behind the Hub(s). Looking deeper, we can distinguish between two separate aspects of this problem. We will look into each aspect separately.

The discussion in this section mainly refers to the BGP on loopback design. However, the same functionality can be achieved also with the traditional BGP per overlay design, with small adjustments to the described methods.
