Hyperthreading

Enabling hyperthreading for VMware NSX allows a single processor core to function as two logical processors, often resulting in improved performance. If your VMware NSX server hardware CPUs support hyperthreading you may be able to optimize FortiGate VMX performance by enabling hyperthreading (sometimes called logical processor) in the server's BIOS and in VMware-NSX.

To enable hyperthreading from the vSphere web client:

  1. Open the Configuration tab and go to Processors > Properties.
  2. Turn on hyperthreading (or logical processor).
  3. Save your changes and if required, restart the host server.
