Region Support

There are two meanings for Azure "region" support:

  • FortiGate-VM is available for purchase in a specific region
  • FortiGate-VM can be deployed on the data center located in the chosen region within the Azure portal. They are the "locations."
  • FortiGate-VM can be deployed on "regional" Azure, such as in China, Germany, and U.S. Gov. Each has its own URL domain. Note this is supported with FortiOS 6.0.2 and later versions.

FortiGate-VM is available for purchase in all regions where Azure is commercially available. For details, see the Azure Purchase FAQ.

In terms of the location where FortiGate-VM is deployed, please make sure that quota is available. Some limits, such as virtual machine cores, exist at a regional level. For more detail, see Azure subscription and service limits, quotas, and constraints. You can also request that Microsoft increase virtual machine cores if necessary, as explained at Resource Manager vCPU quota increase requests. Please choose the instance types supported to deploy FortiGate (Instance Type Support).
