Azure region support can mean one of the following:
- FortiGate-VM is available for purchase in a specific region
- FortiGate-VM can be deployed on the data center located in the chosen region within the Azure portal. They are the “locations.”
- FortiGate-VM can be deployed on "regional" Azure, such as in China, Germany, and U.S. Gov. Each has its own URL domain. This is supported with FortiOS 6.0.2 and later versions.
FortiGate-VM is available for purchase in all regions where Azure is commercially available. For details, see the Azure Purchase FAQ.
In terms of the location where FortiGate-VM is deployed, ensure that quota is available. Some limits, such as virtual machine (VM) cores, exist at a regional level. For more detail, see Azure subscription and service limits, quotas, and constraints. You can also request that Microsoft increase VM cores if necessary, as explained at Resource Manager vCPU quota increase requests. Choose the instance types supported to deploy FortiGate (Instance Type Support).
