About This Release

About This Release

This release delivers the transition of FortiLAN Cloud into FortiEdge Cloud, that is a unified management platform for standalone FortiAP, FortiSwitch, and FortiExtender deployments.

  • The key highlight of this release is the integration of FortiExtender into FortiEdge Cloud.

  • FortiEdge Cloud introduces a new licensing regimen that extends to the devices that it manages, see FortiEdge Cloud Licensing.

  • Ensure to clear the browser cache and cookies after upgrading to FortiEdge Cloud, if you have previously used FortiLAN Cloud.

  • All devices deployed currently in the FortiExtender Cloud solution will be migrated to the Canada data center. When deploying new devices, you can select the region/data center.

  • The existing FortiExtender Cloud users require the following steps to make their devices available in FortiEdge Cloud.

    • If you are a FortiExtender Cloud user and do not have an account to access FortiEdge Cloud, then log in into FortiEdge Cloud (Canada domain - https://ca.fortiedge.forticloud.com/) using your existing FortiExtender credentials and activate the master user account. All your FortiExtender data is available in the Combined Default network.

    • If you have an account in both FortiEdge Cloud and FortiExtender Cloud, but are using a domain other than the Canada domain, then you need to activate your account (if not already done) in https://ca.fortiedge.forticloud.com/ and access your devices in the Combined Default network.

This release also delivers key new features and resolves some outstanding product issues. For more information, see New Features and Resolved issues.
