Configuring FortiTester to Test against FortiGate

The following depicts the network topology for this sample deployment between FortiTester and FortiGate.

  1. Follow steps in Deploying FortiTester-VM on GCP Compute Engine to create an instance for FortiGate.
FortiTester subnetwork mgmt and FortiGate subnetwork mgmt share the same VPC; their subnetwork port1 share the same VPC, and so does their subnetwork port2.

The network of FortiTester is as follows:

The network of FortiGate is as follows:

  2. Set the route IP of the traffic network fts-traffic-port1, go to the VPC network details page.
  3. On Routes tab, click Add route. For Next hop, enter FortiGate's IP for Next hop IP address.

  4. Set the route IP of the traffic network fts-traffic-port2, go to the VPC network details page.
  5. On Routes tab, click Add route. For Next hop, enter FortiGate's IP for Next hop IP address.

  6. Configure peer network when creating the case.
When adding a case in Performance Testing, click Add for a specific case category, for example, HTTP CPS.
Click Add. For DUT Working Mode, check Network Address Translation (NAT).

For port1, enter the FortiGate's interface IP, for example 10.2.5.0/24 in Step 2 and Step 3 above.

For port2, enter the FortiGate's interface IP, for example 10.2.4.0/24 in Step 4 and Step 5 above.
