Whatʼs new in FortiOS 7.0.4

The following list contains new managed FortiSwitch features added in FortiOS 7.0.4. Click on a link to navigate to that section for further information:

  • Administrators no longer need to upload the FortiSwitch firmware for automatic provisioning when switches are authorized by FortiLink. Now administrators can configure the managed FortiSwitch units to be automatically upgraded to the latest FortiSwitchOS version available in FortiGuard when the switches are authorized by FortiLink. For details, see Automatic provisioning of FortiSwitch firmware upon authorization.

  • The Managed FortiSwitches page now displays the full FortiSwitch model name. For example, FortiSwitch 1024D is now displayed in the Managed FortiSwitches page, instead of FS1D24.

  • When you define the dynamic port policy rules for a dynamic port policy, you can now specify that a rule matches a specific hardware vendor before the switch controller changes the portʼs properties. For more details, see Configuring dynamic port policy rules.
