Initiating Takedowns for IMs

The Brand Protection> Takedown page allows you to initiate takedown requests for impersonating profiles and groups on instant messaging (IM) platforms including WhatsApp and Telegram.

Perform the following steps to initiate a new takedown for an instant messaging profile or group.

1. Navigate to Brand Protection > Takedown.

2. Click Initiate Takedown for IM.

3. Select WhatsApp or Telegram.

4. Enter the profile or group URL in the URL field. Ensure that the URL uses one of the supported formats.

5. Click Save.

Supported URLs

When you initiate a takedown, you must use a supported URL format for the profile or group you want to report. The system only processes requests that use the following URL structures

• WhatsApp

  • https://wa.me/

  • https://api.whatsapp.com/

  • https://chat.whatsapp.com/

  • https://www.whatsapp.com/

• Telegram

  • https://t.me/
