Add or edit an AP profile

Add or edit an AP profile

To add or edit an AP profile:
  1. In WiFi > Configuration > AP Profiles:

    1. Click Create New to add a new AP profile.

    2. Select a profile and click Edit to edit an existing profile.

  2. In the form, enter or update the following information:

    Enter a unique name for the profile.

    Optionally, enter any comments.

    Platform

    Select the device platform.

    Administrative Access

    Select the administrative access types for this profile.

    Client load balancing

    Select a handoff type as needed.

    Mode

    Y

    Select the mode for this radio from the following options:

    • Disabled: Disable this radio.

    • Access Point: Set this radio as an access point.

    • Dedicated Monitor: Set this radio as a dedicated monitor.

    Radio resource provision

    Y

    Enable or disable the distributed radio resource provisioning (DARRP) feature.

    Band

    Y

    Select the wireless protocols that you want to support.

    Channel width

    Y

    Select channel width for 802.11ac or 802.11n on 5 GHz.

    Channels plan

    Y

    Select the channel plan from the following options:

    • Three Channels: Automatically selects channel 1, 6, and 11.

    • Four Channels: Automatically selects channels 1, 4, 8, and 11.

    • Custom: Select custom channels.

    Select the channel or channels.

    Short guard interval

    Y

    Select to enable the short guard interval for 802.11ac or 802.11n on 5 GHz.

    Transmit power mode

    Y

    Select the power transmit mode from the following:

    • Percent: Transmit power is determined by multiplying set percentage with maximum available power determined by region and access point device.

    • dBm: Set a dBm value.

    • Auto: Set a range of dBm values and the power is set automatically.

    Transmit power

    Y

    Specify the transmit power levels in dBm.

    SSIDs

    Y

    Select a traffic mode for SSIDs from the following:

    • Tunnel: Available tunnel-mode SSIDs are automatically assigned to this radio.

    • Bridge: Available bridge-mode SSIDs are automatically assigned to this radio. This option is not available for WiFi appliance local radio platforms.

    • Manual: Select which available SSIDs and SSID groups to assign to this radio.

    Monitor channel utilization

    Y

    Enable or disable monitoring channel utilization.

  3. Click Save.
