At-a-glance visibility for profiled devices

With the previous steps completed, after Device Profiling identifies and classifies a new endpoint, you can look for that endpoint in Profiled Devices.

To see your profiled devices

  1. Navigate to Users & Hosts > Profiled Devices. Click Update to see the list of profiled devices.

    In this section we have visibility about the following:

    • Name

    • Name of the rule that profiled the device

    • Role

    • IP Address

    • Mac Address

    • Location (Switch Device and Port)

    • Container that the Managed Device is located in

  2. If you are looking for more details about how FortiNAC makes the profile for this endpoint, you can right click in the profiled device and click on Details:

    All the raw data and scans used for the profile definition will be there.

  3. Endpoint Fingerprints can be used to increase the visibility of devices in their environment. Go to Users & Hosts > Endpoint Fingerprints. All the Rogue devices will be displayed in the screen as follows:

  4. Click Registered to see the output of devices that have been registered automatically by the profiling feature.
