Add users using FortiMonitor
To add a new user to your account, perform the following steps:

From the navigation menu, select Teams & Activity> Users, Groups & On-Call.

Click Add then Add User .

Enter the user's email address.

Select the User Type.

Alerting Only - User only receives notifications.

Control Panel Access - User can log in and access the control panel. Further access refinements for those with Control Panel Access can be made in the ACL Roles section below.

Name |
The user's name, as it will appear throughout the control panel and in communications. |

Avatar |
Upload a photo or avatar for the user. |

Timezone |
The user's timezone - All displayed and computed times are adjusted for the user (this does not affect other users on the account). |

Dashboard Access |
Configure which dashboards this user has access to. You can configure this user to have access to just the dashboards you selected or all of the dashboards in your account. |

Default Dashboard |
(Optional) If a default dashboard is selected, the user will be redirected to this dashboard when they login to FortiMonitor. |
|
Tags |
(Optional) User tags are used to restrict access to dashboards. |
|
Single Sign-on |
To allow certain users to still login via email and password, check the Allow Non-SSO Login checkbox. |

Password |
Select how you want to setup up passwords for the new user. You can manually create a password for the user by selecting Specify Password. Selecting Send Invite Email sends an email to the email address provided with a link that allows the user to set a password. Passwords must be at least 8 characters long and contain at least one letter, number, and special character. |

Permissions |

Access Control |
The scope of actions and infrastructure the user has access to within FortiMonitor. Learn more about access control here. |

Instance Group Access |
Select which groups do the roles selected in ACL Roles apply. You have the option to apply the roles to all groups by selecting All Groups. Selecting Selected Groups allows you to specify which groups the ACL Roles apply to. |

Alerting |

|
The Alerting pane allows you to add various contact methods for the user, which are then later used in Alert Timelines. However, only email is required. You can also add labels (optional) to each contact information. |
|
For each email address and phone number provider, you can set which alert types that specific contact method receives.

Acknowledgment alerts are sent to all users who have previously been alerted on the incident when a member of their team acknowledges an alert |

Messages can be broadcast to other team members in order to communicate about an incident. |
6. Select Save. The new user is added to your FortiMonitor account. Note that this user will only exist in the region where it was created.
