In addition to the Alert Timeline attached to a server, you can configure per-service Alert Timelines that are only used for an outage involving the specified service. You can configure the service-level timeline to either override the normal notification that is performed for the server, or to be used in addition to the normal notification.

Many customers use this to bring developers and others responsible for only part of the services provided by a server into the outage response process.
